Hoosier Scout

The Hoosier Scout was one of the snazziest Cycle cars produced in America. “It is built somewhat like a racer” declared the Automobile”and has good wind cutting lines”. Its racer appearance was a calculated one since its designers- E A Shelley and Theodore A Meyer- freely acknowledged that Bob Burmans Blitzen Benz had been their inspiration.  Tandem seating for 2 was provided on a 96” wheelbase under slung frame with 36” tread and a boattial body.  The Power plant was a Spacke V-Twin with friction drive transmission and belt final drive.  40 to 60 miles per gallon was promised and 200 miles to a quart of oil.  The Hoosier Scout was built by the Warren Electric & Machine Company.
