The City of Indianapolis was a major player in the early days of the Automobile with over 80 makes of cars calling Indianapolis home at one point or another. Many important Marques such as National, Stutz, Marmon, and the grandfather of all makes-Duesenberg-were built in Indianapolis. Many of the Factories that the cars were built in survive. Numerous Innovations and Developments were supplied by many local companies, such as Prest-o-Lite, that supplied and supported these manufacturers.
The Indianapolis Museum of Automotive History will showcase not only Automobiles, but Artifacts, Documents, and really anything relating to the rich history of Automotive Production in Indianapolis. The Museum is a 501C3 Non Profit Organization.
